Dreams of a marble bathroom and linen curtains.

This awful GERM! I went from a cold to losing my voice (my children LOVED this) to a fever and aches to a sinus infection. What next....???
Today
Finally
I feel almost better.
So because I have been "out of the loop" so to speak and have gotten NOTHING done except work and sleep, I was a crazy girl last night. I ripped apart my boys bathroom and scrubbed it to death. Comet and bleach and bubbles! Oh that avocado green tile is soooo sparkly!
Then I had dreams of painting the bathroom.
White.
Clean bright white.
Dreams of ripping that awful tile out and replacing it with white carrera marble.
Marble on the floor, around the tub, on the counter....
Like this!

Sigh, this will have to wait for another day.
So when I awoke from this marvelous dream I had to refocus to current projects.
Namely, half sewn linen curtains and a half done dining room.
How many days till Thanksgiving?
So, I got to work and finished ONE panel!
Yes, I said one.
Only three to go.
It went something like this:

1. Hand pleat a ruffle

2. Sew ruffle on to panel

3. Add liner, 2 inch header and 4 inch hem

4.Hang on super cute vintage swing curtain rods from grandma's house! They were a dark metal but I sprayed them antique white to match bedroom. I LOVE spray paint.

Only three more to go!
I'll keep you posted.

Under the weather, definately under.

I am sick today.
I had plans to do so many things and all I accomplished was a load of laundry and the dishes. Oh, and a shower! This is an accomplishment right? Or a futile attempt to wash the germies off? Either way it got done.
My friends remind me that stillness is something that I used to embrace and that I was the calm feeling in our little group.
"was"?
Somehow my days have become a contest to see how many things I can fit into 24hours. This may be Gods way to slow me right down and refocus my attentions. My sleeping kitty and puppy are definitely enjoying our afternoon cuddle session.
So I will to! A little nap with the fuzzy critters I love so much.
Thanks to Lola B's for her soft music to rest by.

The beginning.

902 Woodrow. My grandparents address. A very adorable Cape Cod full of interesting and incredibly fancy (to me) items. China, silver, marble and warm glowing wood pieces. As a child I was always in awe when we went to grandmas. There was a music room! (the piano lived here) Many many books-Grandma loved to read. The colors were soft yellows, greys, mineral greens and blues. The entryway floor was SLATE! As I read what I have written it sounds like it was imposing. Quite the contrary. This was a small and cozy home. It FELT grand and lived in. Nothing was off limits. Every space was used.
Fast forward a few years and now I have my own nest to feather. Many of grandma's pieces have come to live with us and we are trying to create a fresh new way of loving them.
I will be adding pictures shortly on current projects and what is happening at our space. Check back soon.
